## Pick your path

### I want my first job (Freshers and recent graduates)

1. Sign in and set your preferences
2. Run Resume to Jobs on your resume
3. Fix your resume with the ATS check
4. Apply and mark each one applied
5. Practise the role in Tech or Non-tech Prep
6. Let companies find you on Astra Talent

### I want an internship (Students and campus placements)

1. Sign in and pick "An internship"
2. Browse Internships, newest first
3. Apply and track it in the Tracker
4. Study past questions in Campus
5. Warm up with Aptitude and DSA

### I want a better job (Working and switching roles)

1. Set target roles and companies
2. Check For You picks and Companies
3. Tailor your resume to each role
4. Reach the recruiter directly
5. Plan your prep with the Planner

## Start here: your first 5 minutes

A good setup is what makes every list on Astra relevant to you. It takes about five minutes.

1. **Sign in from a real browser.** If you opened Astra from Instagram or another app, Google sign-in can fail inside that app. Tap the three dots at the top and choose Open in browser, then sign in. If you would rather stay where you are, use the email code option on the sign-in page.
2. **Finish onboarding.** Tell Astra whether you are a student, a fresher or working, and what you want next: your first job, a better job, a career switch or an internship. This sets what you see first. (https://useastra.in/onboarding)
3. **Set your preferences.** Add your target roles, companies, experience level, locations and expected pay. The For You picks on Jobs and Internships are built from these, so the more you fill in, the better they get. You can change them any time. (https://useastra.in/job-preferences)
4. **Know the two spaces.** Astra has two spaces. Jobs is for finding, applying and tracking. Prep is for interview preparation. Use the Jobs | Prep switch at the top of the sidebar to move between them. Astra remembers the last page you had open in each. (https://useastra.in/prep)

Tip: On a phone, open the menu at the top left to see the sidebar and the Jobs | Prep switch.

## Find the right roles

There are thousands of live jobs and internships, updated every day. These tools help you get to the ones that fit you.

1. **Jobs and Internships.** The main boards. Start with For You, then use the quick filters and search for role, location, experience, salary and remote work. Switch between Grid and Table view, whichever is easier to scan. (https://useastra.in/hiring)
2. **Resume to Jobs.** Upload your resume and Astra reads it and ranks live roles that match your skills and experience. This is the fastest way to find roles you did not know to search for. (https://useastra.in/resume-to-jobs)
3. **Quick Apply.** A card deck of jobs. Swipe right to save a job to your Tracker, left to skip, and undo if you change your mind. Good for going through many roles quickly. (https://useastra.in/quick-apply)
4. **Companies and Map.** Companies shows who is hiring right now and their open roles. Map shows the same companies by location, so you can see who is hiring near you. (https://useastra.in/hiring-companies)

Tip: Check back daily. New roles are added every day, and applying in the first few days gets you seen sooner.

## Apply and keep track

Applying is only half the job. Tracking what you applied to is what helps you follow up and keep going.

1. **Apply.** Open a role and press Apply. You go to the company's own application page. Free accounts can apply to 5 jobs and 5 internships, and a paid plan removes that limit. (https://useastra.in/hiring)
2. **Mark it applied.** When you come back to Astra after applying, tap Mark as applied. The role moves into your Tracker as Applied. This one tap is what keeps your Tracker accurate.
3. **Move it through the Tracker.** The Tracker has a list and a board with stages: Saved, Applied, Screening, Interview, Offer and Rejected. Move each role as you hear back, and pin the ones you care about most. (https://useastra.in/hiring-tracker)
4. **Check your Analytics.** See how many jobs and internships you applied to and saved over the last 7, 30 or 90 days. A steady number every week works better than a burst once a month. (https://useastra.in/hiring-analytics)

Tip: Saving jobs and pinning them to your Tracker are free for everyone, with no limit.

## Make your resume stronger

Most applications are filtered before a person reads them. A clean, matching resume gets you past that step.

1. **Build or import your resume.** In Resume Builder, start fresh, pick a template, or import your current resume and edit it. Download it as PDF, or as Word for job sites that read Word files better. (https://useastra.in/resume-builder)
2. **Run the ATS check.** The ATS score shows how well an applicant tracking system can read your resume and what to fix first.
3. **Tailor it to a role.** Pick a job and Astra suggests changes so your resume matches what that job asks for. Tailoring for each important role is one of the best uses of your time.
4. **Add a cover letter and a portfolio.** Write a cover letter in the same builder, and create a public portfolio page to share your projects with recruiters. (https://useastra.in/portfolio)

Tip: Free accounts can make 2 resumes in total. Paid plans get 20 a month.

## Reach recruiters directly

A short, specific message to the right person often gets a reply when an application alone does not.

1. **Recruiter Contacts.** Verified recruiter and HR emails at companies that are hiring. Write to them after you apply, and mention the role by name. (https://useastra.in/hr-list)
2. **People hiring at a company.** On a company's page, see who is hiring there, with an email and a LinkedIn note you can send. (https://useastra.in/hiring-companies)
3. **Cold DM and email templates.** Ready-made messages for LinkedIn and email. Change the details to fit you before sending, so it does not read like a template. (https://useastra.in/cold-dms)

Tip: Keep it to four or five lines: who you are, the role, one proof of your work, and a clear ask.

## Let companies find you: Astra Talent

Astra Talent turns it around: instead of you applying, companies that hire on Astra search for you based on your real work. It is in early access and open to paid plans.

1. **Show your real work.** Add your projects, GitHub, LeetCode, case studies or designs to your Lab. Astra turns them into one Astra Score, so companies see what you can actually do, not just what a resume says.
2. **Get found, with your name hidden.** Companies search Talent by role, skills and city. They see your work and your handle. Your name and contact details stay hidden until you say yes.
3. **Accept or decline requests.** A company that likes your work sends a request with the role, the pay and a note. Accept and your name is shared with them. Decline and they never find out who you are.
4. **Get hired in one thread.** The chat, any assignment, the interviews and the offer all happen in one place on Astra. Open Astra Talent from your account menu to set up your profile. (https://useastra.in/talent/continue)

Tip: Astra Talent is opening in batches. If you see a lock next to it in your account menu, it needs a paid plan or has not opened for your account yet.

## Prepare for interviews

Switch to the Prep space for everything you need before the interview. Prep Home tells you what to do next.

1. **Start at Prep Home.** Prep Home shows your next tasks and progress. Use the Planner to set what to study each day, and Review to go back over what you got wrong. (https://useastra.in/prep)
2. **Pick your role track.** Tech Prep has role tracks such as backend, frontend, AI / ML, data analyst and data engineer, with three questions a day and flashcards. Non-tech Prep covers HR, product, sales, marketing, finance, consulting, analyst and customer success roles. (https://useastra.in/tech-prep)
3. **Campus and company questions.** Campus has questions that companies asked in past placement drives, grouped by company, plus a practice bank. Use it before a company's test or interview. (https://useastra.in/campus/app)
4. **Question banks and mock tests.** Practise DSA, interview questions, aptitude, SQL, core CS, system design and more. Take a mock test when you want to check yourself under time. (https://useastra.in/dsa)

Tip: Thirty minutes every day beats five hours on a Sunday. Use Flashcards on your phone for short gaps.

## AI tools and credits

Astra's AI tools help with matching, writing and answering questions. Each use spends AI credits.

1. **Astra AI.** A chat assistant that knows the jobs on Astra. Ask it to find roles, compare two offers, or explain a job description. (https://useastra.in/ai-agents)
2. **Autofill Agent.** A browser extension that fills in job application forms for you. You review every field and submit yourself. It never submits on its own. Available on paid plans. (https://useastra.in/ai-agents?tab=autofill-agent)
3. **Check your credits.** New free accounts get 5 AI credits to start, and paid plans get 50 a month. Usage shows what you have left and what your plan includes. (https://useastra.in/usage)

## Questions

### Is Astra free to use?

Yes. You can browse every job and internship, save them, use the Tracker, and apply to 5 jobs and 5 internships without paying. A paid plan removes the limits and unlocks everything else.

### Why can't I sign in from Instagram?

Google blocks sign-in inside some in-app browsers. Open Astra in Chrome or Safari from the three-dot menu, or use the email code option on the sign-in page.

### Where do the jobs come from?

From company career pages and job boards, checked and added every day. Applying always takes you to the company's own application page.

### Why are my For You picks not relevant?

They come from your preferences. Add your target roles, experience level and locations in Preferences, and the picks update.

### Does Astra apply to jobs for me?

No. You always apply yourself. The Autofill Agent can fill in a form, but you check it and press submit.

### What is Astra Talent?

A way for companies to find you instead of the other way round. You show your work, companies search for it, and they send you requests that you accept or decline. Your name stays hidden until you accept. It is in early access for paid plans.

### How do I get help?

Write to feedback@useastra.in with what you were trying to do, and we will help.
