**Join our dynamic Logistics Packaging Design / Engineering (LOD) team at our state-of-the-art Charleston, SC production facility and make a real-world impact. ** This role is designed for an individual eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world production challenges, directly impacting the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of our inbound and outbound packaged products. Hands-on experience awaits you in: Production Line Optimization & Support: Actively participate in troubleshooting packaging-related issues during production Support packaging line trials for new materials, designs, or equipment, collecting data and providing feedback Material Evaluation & Application: Assist in the practical evaluation of new packaging materials and components for their suitability and performance on existing manufacturing equipment Work with suppliers and internal teams to assess material specifications against production requirements and operational capabilities Contribute to the selection of packaging materials that balance performance, cost, and environmental impact within a high-volume manufacturing setting Process Improvement & Waste Reduction: Identify and propose practical solutions to reduce packaging material waste, scrap, and rework on the production floor Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives focused on improving packaging processes Technical Documentation & Standards: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating packaging specifications Maintain accurate records of packaging tests, line trials, and material performance data Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with production operators, maintenance technicians, quality control, supply chain, and R&D teams to implement packaging solutions. Actively participate in daily production meetings, sharing observations and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
