As a Senior Civil/Structural Substation Design Engineer you will be a part of highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling fascinating and challenging problems of designing, permitting and building HV & MV Substations and associated Grid Connections that power our cloud business. The CSA Team are responsible for achieving a world class uptime for our customers and drive to develop a fleet of buildings emphasizing security, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, while finding new ways to meet AWS’s growing demand. We justify and communicate the technical decisions we make to AWS leadership and work hard to drive continuous advancements in our designs. As Senior Civil/Structural Substation Design Engineer at AWS, you will have the opportunity to impact changes in our current design, as well as establish design procedures and protocols for future systems. The Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) Design Team i BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field - Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Professional Engineering or Architectural License - Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region - Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production - Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
