Software Development Engineer, AFT External Fulfillment

• Design, build, and maintain scalable services and APIs for the QC fulfillment stack • Develop systems that enforce operational controls beyond Amazon sites, including external fulfillment environments with our 3P partners • Collaborate with Senior SDEs, Principal Engineers, TPMs, and Product Managers to define technical solutions that solve fulfillment challenges at scale • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following Amazon's engineering best practices • Drive continuous improvement in system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency, targeting industry-leading speeds • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising the engineering bar across the team • Work in a fast-paced, agile environment with rapid iteration cycles, shipping new capabilities in weeks not months BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow, or experience operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets - Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company, or experience completing complex t
