Software Development Engineer - II, ShipTech Analytics

ShipTech Analytics (STA) is on a mission to revolutionize Amazon's global transportation network through data-driven innovation and artificial intelligence. Our vision is to be the central nervous system of Amazon's transportation operations, providing real-time insights, diagnostive analytics, and AI-powered decision-making capabilities that drive operational excellence across the network. As an SDE 2 on our core team, you'll contribute to building and scaling mission-critical data products that power worldwide operations business decisions. In this role, you'll apply strong technical skills to design and implement scalable solutions that process high volume of data daily, serving diverse user personas from front-line operators to corporate leadership. You'll work on complex problems at scale, maintaining high operational standards while contributing to innovation in both traditional analytics and AI/ML domains. These engineers will grow to provide the technical leadership to the team, drive best practices, mentor other engineers, and drive continuous improvements in engineering excellence. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
