Software Development Engineer III, Recipient Experience

- Design and build large-scale distributed systems that power order history search capabilities, ensuring minimal latency and exceptional performance for customers worldwide - Lead technical initiatives spanning the full software lifecycle from design through deployment, making architectural decisions that balance current constraints with future extensibility - Mentor and coach engineers on your team, conducting thorough code reviews and establishing best practices that elevate the team's technical standards - Collaborate with applied scientists, product managers, and cross-functional teams to translate product vision into technical strategy, creating work-backwards plans and three-year roadmaps - Own team architecture and operational excellence, ensuring systems have proper monitoring, telemetry, runbooks, and retrospective processes while proactively addressing root causes of persistent problems BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
