- Build a best-in-class engineering team that delivers excellent results through rapid iterations - Design and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems - Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning - Develop long term strategy for your programs and translate it into roadmap and action plan - Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management - Mentor and grow superstar SDEs to take on increasingly higher responsibilities BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
