Software Development Manager, Edge Tech

Key Responsibilities — Software Development Manager III - Define and execute AI strategy for software development processes, identifying opportunities where AI accelerates engineering workflows, piloting innovative tools and practices, and scaling successful innovations across multiple engineering teams to drive measurable productivity gains. - Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale, business-critical software systems while providing technical leadership and architectural oversight for complex engineering challenges, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term organizational goals. - Serve as on-site cultural anchor and strategic leader for all co-located engineers regardless of reporting structure, fostering cross-team collaboration, building a strong engineering community, and representing the site in global tech BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers - Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
