Software Development Manager, Emerging Devices Software

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Software Development Engineers working across the mobile-cloud stack, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement - Own end-to-end delivery of features and platform capabilities for Amazon's Personal Devices, including Smart Eyewear and other emerging wearable categories - Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for mobile applications (Android, iOS, React Native) and cloud services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance - Partner closely with product managers, UX designers, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements and deliver high-impact features from concept to launch - Set a high engineering bar through rigorous design reviews, code quality standards, and best practices across the software development lifecycle - Identify and re BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 7+ years of Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related occupational experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams - Hands-on experience designing & building mobile applications for Android or iOS devices OR experience designing & building scalable clou PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
