Software Development Manager, Unified Auth

- Lead and mentor a team of software development engineers, fostering their growth while building a high-performing culture focused on both technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving - Drive architectural decisions and shape technical strategy for authentication and authorization systems that serve as foundational infrastructure across Amazon's ecosystem - Partner with product and program management to define and execute product strategy, ensuring security solutions balance robust controls with positive developer experience - Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across Amazon to understand requirements, communicate technical direction, and build solutions that address diverse business needs - Maintain regular communication with senior leadership on technical progress, risks, and strategic initiatives while ensuring systems maintain the reliability and performance standards our customers depend on BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 7+ years of engineering experience - 3+ years of engineering team management experience - 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations - Experience partnering with product or program management teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
