Sr Data Engineer (DE III), Prime Video Advertising

- Define and own the team's data architecture — the logical data model and end-to-end data flow across the raw, unified, published, and reporting layers — including for problems where the design doesn't yet exist. - Establish architectural patterns, technical standards, and the data-governance and quality frameworks for the platform. - Own the machine-readable semantics layer (grain, metric definitions, caveat registry, join rules, data-quality adjudication) that underpins the team's GenAI analytics and operations tooling. - Lead strategic data initiatives end-to-end, negotiating scope and dependencies with partner Finance, Product, and Ad Tech teams without direct authority. - Mentor and develop data engineers, raise the team's bar on data modeling and testing, and perform DE technical assessments. - Design and implement scalable, fault-tolerant data pipelines using AWS technologies and internal Amazon tools to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources. - Implement data governance standards, including access control, encryption, data retention, deletion policies, and audit mechanisms to ensure compliance and security. - Work with a range of data technologies, including Python, EMR, Spark, Iceberg, Airflow, and many AWS data services like Glue, Athena, Redshift to create end-to-end pipelines that consolidate data from disparate systems. - AI-native experience for automation and defect/opportunity identification using tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, or equivalent BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of data engineering experience - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines - Experience with SQL - Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS - Experience mentoring team members on best practices PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR - Experience operating large data warehouses
